What To Expect
at Boehm's United Church of Christ...
Regardless of -- or, more accurately, in appreciation of --who you are in terms of age, gender, economic status, sexual orientation and identify, mental or physical ability, race, ethnicity or faith background, we strive to be welcoming and open to your presence as part of our own personal transformational journeys. We believe that, through diversity, the body of Christ is made stronger and more whole. We do not believe that everybody will find a personal "perfect" fit for themselves at Boehm's Church; but, we do try to extend Christ's extravagant welcome to all who desire to be part of the life and ministry of the church. Furthermore, we don't ask you to pass a test, recite a pledge or claim some ancient church creed as your own personal belief system. Instead, we share a common desire to explore our individual faith with others doing the same. There are those among us who have been on a lifelong spiritual journey--and others who are just beginning to take their first steps on their path to discern what it means to have faith.
What time are worship services?
Worship is on Sunday starting at 10:00 a.m. There is a time of fellowship and refreshments after the service ends (around 11:00 a.m.).
Where are you located? Is there parking?
We are located in the Blue Bell community at 571 Penllyn-Blue Bell Pike between W. Skippack Pike and Morris Road. There are two parking lots available for your use. There is the side parking lot which is on the same side of the road as the church itself. There is also the secondary lot which is directly across the road (please exercise caution when crossing the Penllyn-Blue Bell Pike).
What should I wear?
Most people dress in fairly casual clothing at Boehm's Church. Some wear jeans and sneakers. Others wear business casual attire. Others, coming straight from work, wearing hospital scrubs and service uniforms. Whatever you wear, you will be welcome.
Are children welcome in worship?
Absolutely! During worship service you'll see that there is a "Time with the Children" moment where kids sit on the altar steps and Pastor Bill or Pastor Lois leads them in a discussion or object lesson. If you have children, feel free to let them participate. After the "Time with the Children" the children go with the teachers to Children's Church. Parents/Guardian will then find them, after the worship service concludes, in the parlor for the time of fellowship and refreshments. Participation in Sunday School is, of course, up to the individual family. Children are welcome to stay in worship if parents/guardians prefer.
When do you offer communion? Can I participate?
Communion is offered on the first Sunday of each month, as well as on special worship occasions. Anyone can accept communion at Boehm's Church.
